Japan Government Allocates $855,000 To Assist Rescuing Of Chibok Girls

The international aid by the global community in locating and rescuing over 200 kidnapped GGSS Chibok female students is being realized in both military, security and financial ways. Japan has informed that it would extend an Emergency Grant Aid of N140m ($855,000) to support the victims of mass abduction and their families, Leadership reports.

According to the statement, revealed to the journalists by the Japanese side in Abuja on June 19, 2014, Thursday, the country expressed its commitment in assisting Nigeria in fighting the insecurity. 
The government of Japan made the move in accordance with the requests by UN organisations and the Federal Government. 
The aid will be redirected to Nigeria through the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and other organisations.
The statement reads, in part:
“This emergency grant aid is expected to contribute to providing support for the psychosocial and physical care of communities of Chibok Local Government Area in Borno State, which is suffering direct and indirect harm as a result of the abduction of school girls by the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram on 14 April 2014.”
It would be recalled that the government of Japan is determined to fight for elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls. It also declared that such acts as Chibok abduction Boko Haram should never be tolerated.
“The Government of Japan renews its determination to continue to cooperate with the people and Government of Nigeria, and the international community to eliminate acts of terrorism and to contribute to the peace and security of the region.”
It would be noted that the UK, the USA, France, China were among the global powers, who offered help in brining the girls back.
